About the Role

This exciting opportunity for a Body Repair Specialist/Fabricator/Boilermaker involves joining our dynamic smash repair facility at Wales Bus, Smithfield. As part of our team, you will contribute to shaping and restoring heavy vehicle exteriors, driving automotive excellence forward.

Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate vehicle damage to determine optimal repair strategies based on job specifications
  2. Replicate, fabricate, and repair trailer, truck, and fridge bodies to our quality standards
  3. Perform high-standard welding on repaired vehicles
  4. Inform Parts Interpreter of any additional parts needed beyond the original estimate
  5. Collaborate with workshop team members to maintain efficient workflow
  6. Notify management of product shortages that may impact production
  7. Regularly review the daily schedule to ensure timely task completion
  8. Maintain respect for company equipment and personal tools

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Bus body repair experience (Essential)
  • Trade qualification (Essential)
  • Strong teamwork and autonomous working skills
  • Effective communication and decision-making abilities
  • Mechanical knowledge to support tool usage and maintenance
