About Project Geologist Role:

This is a challenging opportunity to work on a project as required by the Senior Exploration Geologist, designing and maintaining exploration drilling programs.

Key responsibilities include compiling geological models and assessing a range of geological information, including mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveys.

The successful candidate will work towards developing empirical and conceptual models based on a sound knowledge of Archaean gold and other mineral deposits.

Other key tasks involve drill rig supervision, geological logging, geological interpretation, ensuring drilling is completed to appropriate standards and is cost effective.

Mentoring geologists and other field personnel, regular reporting to supervisors and management, and maintaining effective communication and feedback with peers, subordinates, and superiors are also essential parts of this role.

Requirements for Success:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with a focus on economic geology;
  • Demonstrated experience in Archaean gold exploration is desirable;
  • Previous experience working in large teams would be beneficial;
  • Leadership and management skills across all aspects of the business;
  • Presentation and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Leapfrog / Micromine, ioGAS and ArcGIS software is desirable; and
  • Current manual drivers licence.
