Job Title:Bioacoustics Specialist
About the Role:This role is pivotal in advancing machine learning techniques in species identification from bioacoustic data, supporting research in biodiversity conservation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for scientific analyses of audio recordings using machine learning methodologies, preparing and annotating data, testing and assessing models, monitoring their performance, reporting results, and presenting findings through scientific writing.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and apply machine learning algorithms to identify frog species from audio recordings.
- Collaborate with the Herpetology and FrogID team to advance scientific knowledge and support conservation efforts.
- Design and implement data preparation and annotation protocols to enhance model accuracy.
- Present research findings to diverse audiences through publications and presentations.
A PhD in Biological or Mathematical Sciences or Engineering, with a strong background in data engineering and machine learning, as well as a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret bioacoustic data.
