About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Power Systems Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing the work of more junior team members and providing technical support. You will also maintain relationships with existing clients and act as the interface between Hydro Tasmania and respective clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing the work of more junior team members and providing technical support.
- Maintaining relationships with existing clients and acting as the interface between Hydro Tasmania and respective clients.
- Acting as the Technical Lead for connection application studies, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, model overlays and model validation in PSSE and PSCAD.
- Project management of smaller projects.
Requirements
- 7+ years' experience in the field of electrical engineering.
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
- Practical experience of 7+ years, predominantly in the space of grid connections, Generator Performance Standards (GPS) compliance assessments, power system studies.
- Undertaken testing either on site or virtually (e.g. via Teams screenshare) desirable but not essential.
- Ideally CPEng, RPEQ, RPEV credentials.
- Able to diagnose and troubleshoot independently (both in software PSSE, PSCAD, Python, etc as well as technical issues, i.e. understand the underlying real world physics).
- Modelling software experience using: PSSE, PSCAD, Powerfactory, SINCAL highly desired, Python and Matlab highly desired.
