Gastroenterology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterologist to join our vibrant and diverse team. As a Hepatologist, you will play a crucial role in leading and developing our hepatology service and research, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

Our Gastroenterology unit is a leading provider of advanced training in gastroenterology, with a strong focus on research and innovation. We operate three acute hospitals, with a range of services including endoscopy units, ambulatory care clinics, and a clinical trials unit. Our team comprises experienced gastroenterologists, nurse directors, and administrative staff, working together to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterologist who can demonstrate excellent clinical skills, endoscopic expertise, teaching abilities, and communication skills. As a member of our team, you will be expected to participate in the ward service roster, endoscopy, and on-call bleeding roster, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.

• Supervise inpatient services in conjunction with registrars and junior medical officers
• Provide inpatient consultation to other hospital units
• Deliver endoscopic services at Monash Clayton, Dandenong, and Casey Hospitals
• Attend weekly hospital and community-based outpatient clinics
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings based on subspecialty interest
• Participate in the 24-hour on-call roster for admissions, inpatient services, and urgent endoscopy

To be considered for this role, you must have completed advanced training in Gastroenterology, Fellowship of the RACP or equivalent, conjoint committee endoscopic accreditation, and membership of GESA.
