Leading a team of skilled engineers is a rewarding experience that offers the opportunity to mentor and develop the careers of junior professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, delivery, and tender phases of multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in managing effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally. You will also be required to provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team and champion own continual professional development.

About the Role

  • Project lead work across the design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year/packaged work for turnkey projects;
  • Ensure timely and quality of delivery for civil engineering work in support of relevant technical, commercial and regulatory standards – and in alignment with schedules and budgets;
  • Manage effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally;
  • Provide sound technical/delivery guidance for the team;
  • Champion own continual professional development and mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers;
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and a collaborative, national team in a multidisciplinary engineering setting;
  • Support / lead in proposal preparation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high profile projects as the project leader within the Property & Buildings sector on large or complex projects;
  • Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector, e.g. commercial, residential, mixed-use, education, health, defence;
  • Technical expertise in all-round structural engineering design including post-tensioned concrete;
  • Typically 12 to 15+ years' industry experience;
  • Well-developed client facing, business development and account/relationship management skills;
  • The ability to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
