Industrial Automation Specialist

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing and diagnosing PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems. They will be responsible for providing engineering support to project delivery teams by carrying out processes and tasks as assigned by the associated project lead or project manager.
This role involves technical delivery of projects, including design (software & hardware), development, commissioning and verification & validation activities. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of tenders and quotation responses, working with business development managers to identify and evaluate new opportunities within existing and new markets, communicating identified potential opportunities to sales managers and project delivery teams.
The role also requires interface with clients as needed, within your level of competency and training, deferring responses to senior engineers as appropriate, sharing technical knowledge with project delivery teams to promote technically correct and accurate solutions within customer requirements, and maintaining awareness of project and task budgets to ensure project scope is met within allocated financial and schedule constraints.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronics or a related discipline or trade background
Australian Driver's License and Vehicle
Experience in designing, developing and diagnosing PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems
Ability to interpret control system design documentation
Self-Starter, committed to providing great customer service
Ability to manage competing tasks and priorities
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Systematic approach to problem solving
