Position Summary:

Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Dental Education

Job Description

This is a part-time opportunity as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in dental education at Sydney Dental School.

The successful applicant will contribute to student education, deliver clinical learning experiences and mentorship to students across the school.

The position will participate in collegial governance and decision-making and foster a culture of excellence through guiding academic staff and students towards success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Clinical Learning Experiences:
    • Core clinical learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students engaged in education programs
    • Clinical education in dental practice
  • Mentorship:
    • Provide mentorship to students
  • Engage with Professional Opportunities:
    • Professional learning opportunities provided at faculty and University level
  • Develop Educational Resources:
    • Develop educational resources which reflect contemporary and innovative practices in the discipline
  • Assist in Coordination:
    • Assist in the coordination of activities of other academic staff within the team or discipline

For Lecturer (Level B): Registered as a General Dentist or Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, PhD in dentistry or equivalent research experience in dentistry and health professional education, significant experience working in a clinical setting and proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform pedagogical practice. For Senior Lecturer (Level C): PhD in dentistry or relevant field, established scholarship or research track record in dental research or health professional education, prior and proven experience in clinical teaching.
