Job Profile

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Systems Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience in local government and a deep understanding of water management strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop drainage systems according to relevant standards for the delivery of council projects.
  • Investigate customer enquiries regarding drainage and flooding issues within the municipality.
  • Create and implement strategic plans for improved drainage outcomes, integrating water management principles into new developments.
  • Analyze and respond to engineering service requests, including Legal Point of Discharge and Build Over Easement requests.
  • Foster a collaborative environment and customer-centric focus among internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering with a focus on drainage and design management.
  • Membership in the Institution of Engineers Australia or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of drainage management, legislation, guidelines, and standards for sustainable outcomes.
  • Experience in water management and demonstrated expertise in community consultation.

A mid-senior level position with a temporary contract available.
