We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Technician to join our team at Energy Queensland.

About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity for a Control Systems Technician to be located at Victoria Park (Brisbane). As the successful candidate, you will perform testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of South-East SCADA systems on various platforms, including BESS (battery energy storage systems), substation teams, and LV/HV field environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of South-East SCADA systems
  • Work on BESS (battery energy storage systems), substation teams, and LV/HV field environments
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to ensure seamless system operation
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve system efficiency and reliability
Requirements
  • A full Electrical Licence (without restrictions)
  • Control Systems / SCADA experience
  • A natural interest / skills in IT and technology
  • Proactive, problem solvers
Desirable Criteria
  • Advanced Diploma (or equivalent area of practice) in Electrical Engineering (Electronics/Communications/Information Technology) or with the ability to obtain
  • IT skills including Computer Operating Systems and industrial networks
  • Programming language
  • Genuine interest and experience in IOT (internet of things)
  • Previous experience in water, railways, or electrical distribution sectors highly regarded
  • PLC programming experience
Remuneration

Remuneration for this role will be up to $150K plus 14.75% superannuation based on a 9-day fortnight non-continuous shift. Additionally, you will receive applicable allowances while working overtime, on call, or on afternoon shift, which will likely increase annual earnings by an estimated 10%.
