Lead a Team in Youth Justice

The Department of Justice and Community Safety seeks an experienced leader to oversee the development and operation of out-of-school programs for young people.

As a mid-senior level position, you will be responsible for managing a team of youth engagement officers to provide comprehensive programs and activities tailored to the cohorts' interests and cultural backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning programs for the Parkville precinct in advance to ensure cultural, religious, and significant days are acknowledged or celebrated.
  • Coordinating the delivery of internal and external programs across the precinct.
  • Maintaining an understanding of issues impacting youth justice and investigating and leading critical projects that enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need knowledge, experience, and understanding of current issues, trends, and techniques relating to program development, implementation, and operation within the youth justice setting.

A current driver's license is required due to the need to work across different locations. You will also be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee during employment.
