Support Services Specialist

Job Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to provide high-quality support to children, young people, and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver intake, screening, and placement services for children and young people with foster and kinship care families.
- Conduct assessments, crisis support, and therapeutic interventions; escalate concerns as needed.
- Develop and evaluate individualized care plans tailored to meet unique needs.
- Provide evidence-based parenting programs and collaborate with community partners to support families.
- Recruit, assess, and support foster and kinship carers, including facilitating approval processes.
- Lead case management planning and maintain accurate client records.
- Offer flexible, in-home support services, including after-hours and on-call duties.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in social work, psychology, or related field - or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care principles.
- Skilled in care assessments and trauma-informed practice.
- Knowledge of challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Current driver's licence, National Police Check, and Working with Children (Blue Card) clearance.
