Environmental Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team. As a key member of our Ecology & Biodiversity team, you will have the opportunity to continue your growth and contribute directly to environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality service and advice in ecological expertise to clients and colleagues in office-based and fieldwork activities.
- Participate in comprehensive field survey programs to collect various ecological data.
- Interpret and apply relevant environmental legislation to projects across different sectors.
- Develop technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs and implications for environmental impact assessment and management.
- Assist in preparing tenders and proposals by leveraging your knowledge of environmental policies.
- Mentor junior staff and lead field trips to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
- Integrate technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams to deliver sustainable solutions.
- A tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field is essential.
- You should possess 5-6+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report production.
- Experience in designing and implementing flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs is highly valued.
- Excellent flora and/or fauna identification skills are required.
- Mature report writing and computer skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written material for publication.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proven project management experience in relation to client management and budget control.
