Join Our Team as a Research Leader in Botany

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Lecturer in Botany. The successful candidate will have a strong research focus on Australian flora and/or on how invasive plant species impact native ecosystems.

About the Role

The School of Biological Sciences is committed to delivering high-quality research and teaching in the field of botany. We are looking for a talented individual who can contribute to our research program and deliver botanical teaching in the School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a dynamic research program in botany
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary research within the School and wider academic community
  • Deliver botanical teaching in the School
  • Supervise research students, including Honours and Higher Degree by Research Students
Requirements
  • PhD in botany/plant biology or related field with a focus on native flora and/or invasive plant species and their impact on native ecosystems
  • Demonstrated track record of research excellence in plant biology as evidenced by publications in highly regarded peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Demonstrated track record in securing research grant funding
  • Demonstrated track record of teaching excellence in plant biology in a variety of face-to-face and/or hybrid and online modes
