Clinical Coder Opportunity in a Dynamic Hospital Setting

We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to join our team on a part-time basis at John Fawkner Private Hospital, a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing comprehensive surgical, medical, and critical care services.
This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to leverage their skills and expertise in clinical coding, working across multiple Healthscope sites while enjoying a flexible work arrangement. As a valued member of our Health Information Services team, you will be responsible for abstracting and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedure codes for all inpatient episodes.
About the Role
- Timely and accurate clinical coding
- Participate in case mix analysis, education and quality activities
- Clinical documentation improvement initiatives
- Participate in audits as necessary
The successful candidate will possess excellent time management and organisational skills, with considerable experience in ICD-10-AM and ACHI coding according to ACS and National guidelines. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to work within a team environment.
Key Requirements:
- HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding or other recognised Clinical Coding course with experience in ICD-10-AM and ACHI according to ACS and National guidelines
- At least 1+ years clinical coding experience within a hospital setting
- Sound understanding of Codefinder and Turbocoder
- Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
