We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled basketball professional to lead our basketball program as Head of Basketball. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a strong leader who can develop and implement effective strategies to achieve excellence in basketball at Toowoomba Grammar School.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the basketball program, including training, fixtures, and tournaments.
- Develop and implement programs to enhance player development and performance.
- Lead and manage a team of coaches and support staff to achieve basketball excellence.
- Build and maintain relationships with local basketball clubs, associations, and schools to promote our basketball program.
- Manage budgets, resources, and facilities to ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
Selection Criteria
- High Performance Basketball Coaching Experience: A minimum of five years of high-performance basketball coaching experience, including expertise in developing players across various skill levels, with a focus on school or representative-level basketball.
- Coaching Accreditation and Compliance: Current coaching accreditation and a valid Positive Notice (Blue Card) are required.
- Leadership and Player Development: Ability to motivate, lead, and inspire players and coaching staff, with a focus on building cohesive teams and developing leadership qualities in players.
- Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Advanced communication and negotiation skills, including experience in managing relationships with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Program Coordination and Administration: Experience in coordinating basketball programs, including planning training schedules, fixtures, tournaments, and camps, as well as managing multiple tasks and budgets.
Requirements
- Valid Blue Card (Positive Notice)
- Current coaching accreditation
- Relevant qualifications and experience in basketball coaching and program management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
