Imaging Specialist (Lvl 2) - Cardiac Catheter Lab Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Imaging Specialist to join our team in the Cardiac Interventional Unit.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a key role in delivering high-quality imaging for angiography and interventional cardiology procedures.

You will oversee imaging workflows, radiation safety, and equipment compliance, while also mentoring staff and ensuring exceptional patient care.

  • Lead imaging within a speciality clinical unit for Angiography/Interventional Cardiology in the Cardiac Catheter Lab.
  • Work under the direction of the Section Senior Radiographer, Director of the Cath Lab, Head of Cardiology, and Nurse Unit Manager.
  • Report professionally to the Chief Radiographer.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high standards of imaging to support the provision of efficient and effective services.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of radiological equipment.
  • Provide accurate and timely diagnostic information to medical staff on a routine and emergency basis.
  • Coordinate imaging workflow within the clinical specialty.
  • Communicate effectively between staff, patients, and referrers.
  • Orient, supervise, and train medical radiation scientists, technical assistant staff, students, and other health professionals within the clinical specialist area.
Working Environment:

Liverpool Hospital offers a wide range of state-wide services, featuring 23 operating theatres and a capacity for 877 beds.

The hospital is undergoing a major redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, which will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

Requirements:
  • AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner-Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science or equivalent.
  • A valid NSW EPA Radiation User Licence.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and participation in continuous quality improvement.
  • Service delivery experience and effective prioritisation and organisation of workload in a complex clinical setting.
  • High-level interpersonal communication and leadership skills applied to a patient environment and vendor relationships.
