About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychiatrist to join our Older Adult Mental Health Team at Mediix. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical assessment and treatment for older adults (65+ years) or those with mental illnesses related to aging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including training registrars, nursing, and allied health staff.
  • Collaborate with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Supervise and train medical students and junior doctors, including training registrars.
  • Participate in research projects relevant to mental health services.
  • Join the on-call roster for the mental health team and the ECT roster.

Requirements
  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in psychiatry.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent.
  • Extensive clinical experience in older adult mental health.
