Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented artists and collaborating closely with designers, animators, and programmers to bring our game worlds to life. You will develop and maintain high artistic standards throughout the project lifecycle and cultivate a culture of creativity and collaboration within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement visual strategies that align with the overall artistic vision of the game.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and Game Designers to establish and maintain the visual style of the game.
  • Oversee the creation of concept art, character designs, environments, and other visual assets.
  • Evaluate and ensure that all visual elements meet quality standards.
  • Cultivate a culture of creativity and collaboration within the team.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow team members.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our artistic processes.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental design principles, including composition, lighting, and spatial storytelling.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving project goals.
  • Experience with Substance Painter and 3D software (preferably Maya).
  • Proficiency in high-poly and low-poly modeling and knowledge of various texturing workflows.
  • Solid understanding of mesh economy and optimization.
  • Strong observation skills and an eye for detail.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing examples of general asset creation in a combination of environment, shaders, modeling, unwrapping, and texturing.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask.
  • Team player with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organized and able to work to deadlines and have good time management skills.
