This is a great ongoing opportunity to build impactful tools for marine data and research. You will use your software engineering skills in a science-driven environment to design, develop, and maintain web-based tools and data infrastructure systems that support the management and dissemination of marine research data.

About This Role

This role plays a key part in enabling access to high-quality marine data for researchers and stakeholders across Australia. The goal is to develop and maintain digital platforms that support the curation, publication, and reporting of marine research data.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain web-based tools and data infrastructure systems that support the management and dissemination of marine research data.
  • Contribute to the uplift of existing platforms, support database components used for research and reporting on MNF activity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure systems meet evolving scientific and operational needs.
Requirements
  • A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in Information Technology or a related scientific field.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to technological decision-making processes, process improvement, and software development tasks.
  • Experience in applying software engineering best-practices, such as version control, continuous integration, automated testing, and work item tracking software.
