About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will provide authoritative guidance on investment strategy to support informed decision-making. Your expertise will help shape the department's priorities for funding and develop robust strategies for securing required resources.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly. You will need to be able to adapt and respond effectively to these changes while maintaining a short- to medium-term view of the department's funding priorities.

You will work closely with colleagues within the Division and stakeholders across the Department and central agencies. Your role will involve providing guidance and advice to support the development of robust business cases for proposed investments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the department's strategic priorities and budget processes.
  • Provide authoritative guidance on investment strategy to support informed decision-making.
  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to develop and implement effective investment strategies.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize initiatives for investment.
  • Analyze and evaluate business cases to ensure alignment with departmental objectives.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Experience working in a similar role, with a strong understanding of investment strategy and budget processes.
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics or public policy.
