Service Design Lead

A critical role in shaping digital transformation initiatives within a complex government environment.

This position requires a strategic and hands-on design leader to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering large-scale uplift programs focused on cloud migration, network modernisation, and secure digital services.

The successful candidate will lead the creation of service design artefacts such as service blueprints, user journeys, and strategic recommendations. They will collaborate with UX researchers and multidisciplinary teams to conduct design research using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

The Service Design Lead will facilitate workshops to drive stakeholder alignment and co-design approaches across multiple agencies and sectors. They will provide critical input into business process improvement, service rationalisation, and cloud readiness strategies.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in digital transformation or omni-channel strategy environments. They will possess strong capability in service design, UX design, and user research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of service design artefacts such as service blueprints, user journeys, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers and multidisciplinary teams to conduct design research using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Facilitate workshops to drive stakeholder alignment and co-design approaches across multiple agencies and sectors.
  • Provide critical input into business process improvement, service rationalisation, and cloud readiness strategies.
  • Translate complex user needs and research findings into persuasive visual and written outputs to inform technology and service direction.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in digital transformation or omni-channel strategy environments.
  • Strong capability in service design, UX design, and user research.
  • Skilled in facilitation and communication, adept at aligning stakeholders with competing priorities.
