About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator to join our team at Johns Lyng Group. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and detailed estimates for building reinstatement works.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Interpret Scope of Works: Interpret scope of works provided by consultants and ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  2. Site Attendance: Attend sites to estimate for building reinstatement works and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed.
  3. Scope of Works Documents: Write scope of works documents when required and ensure that all necessary information is included.
  4. Budget Achievement: Work in conjunction with supervisors to achieve set budgets and ensure that all estimates are accurate and detailed.
  5. Relationship Building: Build new and leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry and ensure that all necessary communication is maintained.
  6. Client Liaison: Liaise with clients and insurers to ensure that all necessary information is obtained and that all estimates are accurate and detailed.
  7. Property Access: Coordinate access to properties with insured parties and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed.
  8. Sub-Contractor Engagement: Liaise with and engage sub-contractors during the quotation stage and ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  9. OH&S Compliance: Ensure that all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements and that all necessary documentation is completed.
  10. Inspection and Certification: Ensure that all inspections, certificates, and relevant documentation is signed off and that all necessary information is obtained.
Requirements
  1. Insurance Building Background: Proven examples of demonstrating drive and energy, with a background in insurance building, ideal but not essential.
  2. Estimating Experience: Previous estimating experience, ideal but not essential.
  3. Building Trade Qualification: Building trade or construction qualification, advantageous.
  4. Remedial Building Background: Remedial building background, ideal but not essential.
  5. Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  6. Drive and Energy: Drive, energy, and highly motivated.
  7. Prioritisation: Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  8. Time Management: Exceptional time management skills.
  9. Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships and be empathetic to the needs of the client.
  10. Computer Literacy: Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Project, and Word.
  11. OHS Familiarity: Familiarity with OHS practices, legislation, and regulations.
  12. Market Rates: Familiarity with current market rates and trades.
  13. Motor Vehicle License: Current motor vehicle license.
