Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team in Canberra, ACT. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple large-scale construction projects and ensuring their successful delivery.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, with a proven track record of leading teams and driving projects forward. You will be responsible for managing resources, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring projects meet deadlines, budget requirements, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Provide hands-on leadership across all operational teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and collaboration across multiple project sites.
  • Project Management and Coordination: Monitor all ongoing projects, maintain a comprehensive understanding of their status, and make proactive adjustments to ensure smooth progress.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Act as the primary operational point of contact for senior leaders, providing regular updates and insights on project status, resource allocation, and potential risks.
  • Team Development and Management: Oversee ground teams, providing mentorship, support, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and engagement.
  • Process Improvement and Change Management: Identify and implement operational best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an operations management role within the construction or civil engineering sector, with a proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and inspire teams in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in resource planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
