About the Role: Regional Assistant Development Coach
This is a part-time role contributing to the successful operation of our Tasmania Talent Pathway Programs. As a Regional Assistant Development Coach, you will support the Regional Development Coach in developing talented players in the program.
Key responsibilities include assisting in training sessions, focusing on individual player development in a safe and inclusive environment. You will also contribute to player selection, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback. Collaboration with other coaching staff and alignment with program objectives are crucial to ensuring player development in a positive environment.
Additionally, this role involves participating in regional and state-based training sessions, match days, and interstate travel, providing a comprehensive coaching experience within the AFL talent pathway.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the relevant coach in planning training and match days.
- Drive a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for players and maintain a respectful culture within the region.
- Work with individual players to improve fundamental skills and provide guidance and confidence in their football careers.
- Act as a line coach and oversee educating players under your charge.
Core Competencies:
- Passionate about individual player development and coaching.
- Well-developed IT skills.
- Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Sound background and knowledge of coaching principles.
- Ability to commit to working nights and some weekends.
- A valid Working With Vulnerable People card is required.
Desired:
- AFL Silver Coach Accreditation or working towards an AFL Coaching accreditation.
