The Phlebotomy Professional will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in an outpatient setting. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture collections, processing specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
- Enter orders for lab tests, ensuring all necessary information is included and accurately documented.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing any concerns and providing post-phlebotomy care.
- Maintain accurate records, reviewing and updating logs as needed to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of laboratory services.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution highly valued.
- One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification preferred.
