About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Structural Engineer - HV Transmission Lines to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the structural design management of HV Substation & Transmission projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Providing specialist technical input, including structural design oversight, project planning, and coordination.
  • Conducting design reviews and checks to identify and rectify potential issues, ensuring high-quality design deliverables.
  • Communicating effectively with clients to present design concepts, progress, and recommendations.
  • Mentoring and guiding team members to achieve their full potential.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in Structural Engineering with a strong understanding of power industry design principles for substation, transmission line, and renewable projects.
  • 15+ years' experience in the delivery of Substation & Transmission projects to applicable ANZ Standards and Guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using specialist design and analysis tools, such as PLS-CADD, MicroStation, AUTOCAD, and 12D.
  • Experience in design management involving multi-disciplinary teams, with strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • The ability to mentor, motivate, and guide team members.
