About the Role

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in driving business strategy and process improvements, working closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement business strategies, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions to drive growth and efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and optimize business processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Integration and Coordination: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate business systems, processes, and technologies, ensuring seamless alignment and efficient information flow.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members, supporting their professional development and growth.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and external partners, to ensure clear understanding and alignment of business objectives and strategies.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 5 years of functional experience in integration projects as a business analyst, functional consultant, or business systems support role, in a large and complex organization, ideally in higher education.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in a range of application development methodologies, including agile, waterfall, lean, and rapid application development methodologies.
  • Experience in business case preparation, estimation, and costing of work.
  • High-level knowledge and competency in the use of professional business analysis techniques and methods, such as Use Case Analysis and UML.
  • Well-developed skills in the use of standard office toolsets, including word processors, spreadsheets, drawing/diagramming tools, presentation tools, and project management tools.
  • Sound experience with project management tools, such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Sound consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility, and to be proactive in developing robust solutions to problems.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Sound experience in mentoring team members to support and ensure effective delivery and implementation of solutions.
