We are seeking a highly skilled individual to manage a portfolio of systems contributing to understanding and managing the space domain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing sustainment strategies, overseeing programs and contracts, maintaining stakeholder relationships, ensuring technical integrity and resource management, and managing risks and monitoring performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement sustainment strategies to ensure capabilities remain available, reliable, and meet Australia's space security objectives.
- Oversee programs and contracts, including managing sustainment services, monitoring budgets, ensuring compliance, and governing complex technical contracts.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, international allies, and industry partners in space domain awareness and control.
- Ensure technical integrity and resource management by supporting system calibration, documentation, configuration control, and overseeing logistics for specialized components and secure data pathways.
- Manage risks and monitor performance by assessing and mitigating sustainment risks while tracking and reporting on operational effectiveness.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in engineering, IT, physics, business, or project management, with a background in Defence, sustainment, logistics, or complex technical systems.
- Project and contract management skills, ideally with certifications like PRINCE2 or PMP.
- Expertise in resource and risk management, including logistics, supply chain management, asset lifecycle planning, and assessing risks in interconnected systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Defence personnel, technical experts, industry partners, and international allies.
