The Town of Gawler is seeking a motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to lead Aquaerobics classes at the Gawler Aquatic Centre.

About the Role

As an Aqua Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality fitness programs that are safe, enjoyable, and targeted to the needs of the local community. Your role includes:

  • Providing professional instruction in Aquaerobics classes, ensuring they are engaging and fun for participants.
  • Ensuring participant safety by supervising them and responding to first aid situations as needed.
  • Setting up and packing up equipment for classes, maintaining its proper condition.
  • Attending team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and Centre procedures.
  • Delivering excellent customer service by effectively communicating with participants.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AUSTSWIM WETS certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Working With Children Check.
Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • AUSTSWIM or equivalent Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety.
  • Provide First Aid certification.
  • Child Safe Environments certification.
  • Pool Lifeguard certification.
  • Pool Plant Operations certification.
  • Certificate III or IV in Fitness and Personal Training.
  • Experience teaching Aquaerobics classes.
