Lead AI Engineering Strategist

This leadership role is responsible for spearheading AI engineering initiatives and driving innovation in the field. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and scaling technical organizations, with expertise in AI/ML implementation, MLOps, and cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior leaders to define and execute departmental data, digital, and AI strategy
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and their applications in education
  • Develop and implement AI/ML solutions using Python frameworks and cloud platforms
  • Build and lead high-performing teams of engineers and technologists
Requirements:
  • 10+ years progressive technology leadership experience
  • 5+ years in senior executive roles
  • Proven track record of building and scaling technical organizations (20+ engineers)
  • Deep hands-on software engineering experience across mainly Python frameworks
  • Expert-level cloud platform knowledge (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP valuable)
  • Extensive data architecture experience: data lakes, streaming analytics, modern data stack
  • Strong AI/ML implementation background, MLOps, and responsible AI practices
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and cloud-native architectures
