Culturally Sensitive Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as an Early Childhood Education Assistant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and supervision to young children during group sessions;
- Deliver culturally-appropriate activities to support intellectual, emotional, and cultural development;
- Build strong relationships with children and foster confidence and self-esteem;
- Respond to children's needs and ensure their safety at all times;
- Monitor health and provide first aid as required;
- Engage in activities that promote cultural education and pride in identity and culture.
Essential Requirements:
- A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification is highly desirable;
- At least one year of experience working with preschool children, preferably Aboriginal preschool children;
- Ability to draw on resources of Aboriginal culture in working with small children;
- Friendly, approachable, sensitive personality;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and nutrition for young children;
- Ability to work as a member of a team;
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and Care;
- Experience in child protection and welfare policies;
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices;
- Understanding of work health and safety, cultural safety, and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
