About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Planner to join our Apparel team at Target. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maximizing sales and profit through effective management of the department range architecture and product assortment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement merchandise strategies to drive sales and profitability in line with Target's values.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to develop strategies and processes to drive sales and profitability.
  • Manage and trade a department in a planner role, ensuring key deliverable KPIs such as sales, profit, OTB, and inventory are managed within agreed parameters.
  • Manage supplier range plans to ensure alignment to the Target strategy.
  • Build and execute the sales, gross margin, and inventory plan, at a weekly/monthly/season level, within Merch planning tool.
Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of planning experience in a large scale big box retail environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and numerical skills, high levels of attention to detail.
  • Ability to observe, interpret, and act upon trends in customer behavior.
  • Highly inquisitive, self-driven with strong organization skills in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficient with business intelligence tools, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete accurate product plans, replans, prepare financial budgets, and department performance analysis.
