Munich Re is a leading reinsurance company with a global presence, offering a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking approximately 6 students to join our team as interns, working with the Actuarial or Chief Risk Office teams. This paid internship will run from December 2024 to mid-February 2025, with a two-week break over the Christmas and New Year period.

As an intern, you will have the chance to work on various projects, including:

Actuarial

  • Develop new data analysis tools to improve performance drivers
  • Upgrade existing tools to enhance efficiency and output
  • Identify special policy and claim features using available data
  • Support the transition to a new treaty management system
  • Undertake analysis and modelling for repricing activities

Risk/Legal

  • Ensure executed contracts are uploaded to the Contracts Register
  • Support Information Security for the risk and compliance team
  • Update the Risk SharePoint page and Risk portal
  • Improve Shared Services registers
  • Assist in implementing new regulatory requirements

Your Profile

  • We are looking for current students with at least 2 years of studies
  • You will have a curious mind, enjoy collaborating with others, and be keen to develop your skills
  • You will be located in Australia and able to attend our Sydney office
