About the Role

The Square Kilometre Array Observatory is a global project constructing the world's largest radio telescopes. To support vast data output, national SKA Regional Centres are working with SKAO. The Australian SKA Regional Centre delivers data infrastructure, tools, and support to the astronomy community.

This role sits within the AusSRC team at CSIRO's Marsfield site in Sydney, NSW. A key focus will be integration and alignment of AusSRC systems with the Australian Astronomical Optics Data Central platform.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop and support software components enabling seamless data access, processing, and analysis. You will work closely with both AusSRC and Data Central teams to ensure interoperability and technical excellence across platforms.

Your key duties will include:

  • Working together with project stakeholders to determine their needs and priorities.
  • Developing and maintaining software components that manage the dissemination of SKA data.
  • Participating in operational support by contributing to fault analysis and deployment of software components.
  • Sharing your knowledge and experience to create innovative software solutions and nurture innovation within the team.
