Music Education Position

We are seeking a skilled music educator to join our vibrant department and contribute to the development of young learners.

This role involves delivering a dynamic music curriculum, engaging students through various musical activities, and promoting a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with music curriculum standards.
  • Deliver engaging instruction that fosters music appreciation across diverse styles, genres, and cultures.
  • Organise and maintain classroom resources, including instruments and audio equipment.
  • Promote positive behavior and discipline in the classroom.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and music-related excursions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into interdisciplinary projects and broader school initiatives.
  • Assess student progress through practical, written, and aural evaluations.
  • Support students' emotional and social development within the context of music learning and performance.
  • Participate in staff meetings, assemblies, and professional development activities.
  • Engage with parents and guardians during open days and parent-teacher evenings.

Requirements:

  • Experienced in teaching secondary school music with strong curriculum knowledge.
  • Ability to lead ensembles and experience teaching HSC/Stage 6 highly desirable.
  • Skilled in delivering lessons across performance, theory, and music appreciation.
  • Effective classroom management fostering a positive and disciplined environment.
  • Strong assessment capabilities with accurate monitoring and reporting of student progress.
