About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Electrical Engineer to lead our Sydney Buildings team.

This full-time leadership role combines technical excellence with strategic business development and client engagement, requiring strong project management skills, commercial acumen, and exceptional communication abilities.

As a senior member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success, expanding client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities across a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your ability to lead from the front—both technically and commercially—will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client-facing project delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong stakeholder satisfaction through effective project management and coordination.
  • Drive business development initiatives, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities and nurturing long-term client partnerships by leveraging professional networks and industry connections.
  • Manage internal design teams and oversee engineering assessments across complex, multi-client projects, applying expertise in LV power systems and lighting design.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, client presentations, and strategic meetings to enhance market presence and promote business growth.
  • Deliver technically sound and innovative electrical designs, reports, and specifications across sectors including health, defence, high-rise, industrial, and education, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and coaching.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a design consultancy environment, with a strong track record of client engagement and project leadership.
  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on electrical systems and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages of delivery, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong technical knowledge in LV power systems and lighting design, with proficiency in tools such as PowerCAD and AGI/Dialux.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for building client relationships and growing business pipelines through networking and business development activities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, working effectively with colleagues and clients to achieve shared goals.
