This is a full-time on-site role for a Union Industrial Officer located in the Sydney CBD. The successful candidate will join a team of 6 IO's and lawyers, and will be responsible for representing and advocating on behalf of union members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Negotiating enterprise agreements
  • Handling industrial disputes
  • Providing industrial relations advice
  • Preparing case materials including evidence and submissions
  • Appearing in the Fair Work Commission
  • Briefing barristers
  • Conducting workplace visits

The Union Industrial Officer will also be responsible for conducting research and analysis on workplace issues and policies, and facilitating training and information sessions for members.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Advocacy, negotiation, and industrial relations experience
  • Skills in case preparation and handling industrial disputes
  • Legal research and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in union or worker representation is an advantage
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent, or working towards the same
Benefits:
  • $85-110k salary (dependent on experience)
  • 5 weeks annual leave, 15 days P/C leave, 12 ADOs
  • Practising certificate/CPD costs covered
