Role Overview

In the capacity of Field Services Ranger, your primary focus will be on safeguarding the natural resources of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park. This role involves executing predator and herbivore management strategies and assessing the success of these initiatives. You will foster relationships with both external and internal stakeholders, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to, and facilitating ongoing research projects within the park.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing project plans efficiently and within budget.
  • Coordinating and executing control activities.
  • Collecting and managing monitoring data.
  • Supervising contractors and managing allocated resources.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports on project outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in pest animal management techniques, particularly in fox control.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing small-scale projects.
  • Possession of a Victorian Firearms (Longarm) Licence, with a strong emphasis on safe firearm handling for pest management.
