Job Description
The Forestry Equipment Engineer plays a crucial role in the management team, providing specialist knowledge for establishment, planning, and overseeing the safe and efficient management and operation of the Customer Service function. This includes ensuring the Service team is appropriately resourced and trained to meet customer needs while managing labour and warranty costs in accordance with company goals and objectives.
Duties
• Analyze workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data, and production schedules and costs to determine optimum worker and equipment efficiencies
• Organise and manage project labour and the delivery of materials, plant, and equipment
• Establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance according to engineering principles and safety regulations
• Inspect equipment to ensure optimum performance is maintained
• Direct the maintenance of equipment and coordinate requirements for surveys and maintenance schedules
• Drive a strong Safety & Environmental performance culture in every aspect of daily work
• Provide leadership and support to other members of the team
• Actively support all reasonable requests from the Managing Director
• Consistently follow the organisation's policies and procedures
• Participate in and complete both internal and external training programs
Qualification:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar is required. The ideal candidate will have understanding of Customer Service functions, processes, and procedures. Technical competence sufficient to interpret customer requirements and understand technical manuals is essential. Experience working in the heavy equipment industry is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, produce a quality outcome, and continuously improve own work are also required.
