Blast Crew Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Blast Crew. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in achieving daily loading and blasting objectives safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dipping, priming, loading, stemming, and tie-in of blast patterns to meet daily loading and blasting targets.
  • Maintaining the safe use, storage, security, transport, and handling of explosives in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Operating ancillary equipment such as stemming loaders.
  • Collaborating with the entire blast team to achieve daily operational targets.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or equivalent experience as a Bench Hand.
  • Standard 11 qualification.
  • QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working in an open-cut mining environment.
  • Desirable: RIIBLA201E – Support Shotfiring Operations.
  • Fitness and health to undertake physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks including medicals and national background checks.
