We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Solicitor to join our team at Central Coast Council. As a key member of our legal services team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice to internal business units across a range of issues, including environmental, planning, and regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the internal legal services team and provide strategic legal advice to senior management
- Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Provide expert advice on environmental, planning, and regulatory law, including court attendance and protocol
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures
- Admitted or immediately eligible for admission as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales
- Extensive experience in environmental, planning, and regulatory law, including court attendance and protocol
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
- A competitive salary range of $120k - $144k plus 11.5% superannuation
