About the Role
Rio Tinto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coordinator to join our Plant Shutdown team at Hope Downs. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of shutdowns, aligned with site's direction and positive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Shutdown Planners, Electrical Coordinators, Permit Officers, and contractor partners to develop and execute a quality shutdown plan.
- Manage contractors on site and coordinate all mechanical tasks pre, post, and during shutdowns for assigned areas of responsibility, adhering to QA/QC requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, aiming for a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents.
- Conduct deep dives into shutdown work orders, identifying constraints such as interactions, commissioning requirements, isolations/permits, accuracy of duration of tasks, parts, resources, etc.
- Support and coordinate pre-shut and post-shut activities, including job scoping, planning, shut org charts, development of wash-down & permit plans, crane set up maps, laydown/staging areas, tooling and consumables, clean-up, tooling returns, parts return, etc.
- Influence team members and contractor partners to generate improvement ideas.
Requirements
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Experience working in mine site shutdown environments is highly regarded.
- Excellent understanding of Work Management Systems and Process, able to easily navigate through SAP and Gantts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to engage with the team and contractor partners to promote site's values and positive culture.
- A willingness to learn and a continuous improvement mindset.
- A positive outlook and an adaptable, flexible, and reliant attitude.
- Dedicated commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26.
- An unrestricted 'C' Class Driver's Licence.
