Ashurst's Restructuring and Special Situations Group is a leading practice that combines market knowledge with a supportive and collegiate environment. Our team has consistently been ranked Band 1 by Chambers, providing clients with unparalleled expertise in complex restructuring matters.
In recent years, Australia has seen an influx of sophisticated US and global private credit and distressed debt funds, while Australian corporates have increasingly adopted complex leverage and finance funding structures. As a result, we are seeking a junior to mid-level lawyer with banking or corporate transactions experience to join our market-leading team and assist with these complex restructuring matters.
Ashurst has a proven track record of developing its lawyers, including those without a traditional restructuring or insolvency background. This vacancy represents an outstanding opportunity for a team player with a strong commercial approach who is eager to build their technical skills in this area.
About You:
- Prior experience working on complex matters with a banking or corporate background and a desire to transition into restructuring.
- Ability to take day-to-day responsibility for more straightforward matters and actively progress complex matters with close partner support.
- Strong drafting skills and effective communication with both your team and clients.
- Understanding of the way our business, competitors, and clients are developing and the ability to work with the business development team to identify business opportunities.
