Senior Content Leader

This is a senior role with dual responsibility: driving high-quality content across platforms and ensuring strong commercial performance.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Managing Editor or General Manager.

This position offers autonomy, influence, and the chance to shape news and engage with the community. You will be confident in content strategy and audience engagement, with a strong grasp of digital publishing.

You may come from a newsroom, media, or communications background, or bring transferable leadership experience from another sector. You will also need to be comfortable with the commercial side of running a media business, including understanding how content drives revenue, overseeing operations, and managing teams across editorial, advertising, and production.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be:

  • Organised and forward-thinking, able to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
  • Independent, with strong decision-making skills and a hands-on approach
  • Community-minded and ready to be an ambassador for local journalism and advocate for the community
  • Capable of working flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
  • A licensed driver and willing to travel as needed
