About Our Opportunity

This role offers a unique and challenging opportunity to contribute to the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs in ensuring the integrity of Australia's visa program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations, performing compliance activities, and monitoring sponsors to ensure they meet their obligations under Australian law.

As a Senior Sponsor Monitoring Officer, you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in risk assessment, compliance auditing, and investigative interviewing.

You will work within a high-profile and politically sensitive migration program, contributing to the detection, deterrence, and disruption of potential migration fraud and foreign worker exploitation.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Sponsor Monitoring Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting investigations and performing compliance activities to ensure sponsors meet their obligations under Australian law
  • Undertaking site visits, educating business sponsors regarding their obligations, and conducting investigative interviews
  • Managing a compliance monitoring caseload with a high degree of independence, assessing evidentiary material, and preparing routine and complex documentation
  • Issuing Notices of Intent to Take Action (NOITTA), Infringement Notices, and recommending administrative penalties

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will also need to have a strong understanding of Australian laws and regulations related to migration and visa programs.
