Data Analytics Consultant Position

This is a hybrid position that requires collaboration and innovative thinking. The successful candidate will be working with VISA's big data sets, delivering end-to-end data analytics projects, and implementing AI-centric solutions.

As a key member of the Data Science team at VCA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the design, development, and delivery of data science/engineering solutions to clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including consultants, engineers, and data scientists, to address prioritized business problems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new tools and paradigms. They will also possess outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with different stakeholders at various levels.

The following are the primary responsibilities of this position:

  • Work within the project team to support the design, development, and delivery of data science/engineering solutions to clients.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Partner with roles across the organisation to address prioritized business problems.
  • Build data-driven solutions aligned with client priorities and lead different vendors for execution if required.

The requirements for this position include:

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience as an analytics consultant or data scientist/engineer.
  • Hands-on experience in scaling data solutions and delivering end-to-end data analytics projects.
  • Strong internal team and external client management skills, with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style.
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn, self-motivated and results-oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects.
  • Demonstrated resource planning and delivery skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with different cross-functional team members at varying levels.
  • Understanding of the Payments and Banking Industry, including aspects such as consumer credit, consumer debit, prepaid, small business, commercial, and merchant.

The ideal candidate will possess the following technical expertise:

Technical Expertise
  • Experience in writing and optimizing efficient SQL queries, Hive, Python, and Spark.
  • Expertise in dashboard and report development using Tableau or Power BI.
  • Proficient in working with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good understanding of Agile way of working.

  • Quality-focused professional with strong problem-solving abilities and a proven track record in tackling sophisticated analytical challenges.
  • Detail-oriented to ensure the highest level of quality in reports and data analysis.
  • Proficient in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations and delivery.
