About the Role

The Global Supply Chain Strategist will be a key member of the Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd team, responsible for developing and implementing a global sourcing strategy that meets the company's business objectives.

This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier development. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials, as well as experience in international and local sourcing at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier development
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate contracts that meet the company's needs
  • Identify new suppliers and assess their capabilities and qualifications
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and implement procurement strategies
  • Provide input on supply chain risks and opportunities, and work with the risk management team to mitigate potential issues

We are currently seeking an experienced Global Supply Chain Strategist to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be based in Canberra and will play a key role in driving the company's global sourcing strategy forward.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in international and local sourcing at a strategic level
  • A strong understanding of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
