About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Diabetes Educator in Tennant Creek. As a key member of our Health Services Section, you will play a vital role in improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic health conditions through better access to coordinated and multidisciplinary care.
  • Assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to understand diabetes and how to manage it.
  • Provide high-quality diabetes education to individuals with diabetes, their families, and support networks.
  • Work closely with GPs and other health professionals to ensure that services offered to clients meet contemporary standards for high-quality care and consistency with diabetes treatment and management.
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education or relevant experience providing clinical care and education to individuals with diabetes.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or communities is highly regarded, but not essential.
