About the Role

Calvary Muswellbrook Retirement Community is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Worker to join our team. As a Personal Care Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs of our residents are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents to live the life they choose, allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
  • Contribute to the physical, emotional, and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
  • Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the resident's plan of care.
  • Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs while encouraging their independence.

About You

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent recognised qualification (Essential)
  • Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
  • Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
  • Demonstrated flexibility, empathy, and patience with the aged person and their needs
  • Demonstrated ability to provide holistic care
  • Demonstrated respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and self-esteem
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
